Construction and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

The following chart illustrates how the (SDLC) relates to the activities involved in the construction of a house.

Planning- In this phase; the drawing up of blueprints, and deciding on the functionality of the house, and project scope for the new owners, is the agenda.

Analysis- Working out the details of how everything is going to work together.

Design- Acquiring and assembling resources in relation to time and materials.

Development- This is where the actual construction takes place.

Testing- Verifying that your system works. Inspectors look at roof supports, electrical wiring, and plumbing for code specifications that indicate the required strength needed for the new house.

Maintenance- This is fixing problems as they arise, such as scraping peeling paint and repainting, or repairing wind or rain damage, leaking pipes, or stopped up drains.
